The first time you burn your B&K candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours not longer, until the top 1/4″ whole wax is liquid help it burn more evenly next time. Before lighting, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length, which will allow the candle to burn slowly and will help avoid black marks around the edge of the glass. After blowing out the candle, recenter and straighten the wick. If you see more smoke just trim the wick down to 1/4″.
